About us
Paws For Life Rescue (PFLR) is a volunteer-run, foster-based dog rescue. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit — EIN 46-3976664.
We have no shelter building. Our dogs live with volunteer foster families and, when needed, in private boarding, until they are adopted. Most of our adoptions are in Oregon and the Portland metro area, with some into Washington.
The people
We are a small crew. Cynthia, our founder, is still involved in everything we do. Shellie leads our Pacific Northwest volunteers and fosters, Lisa is one of our core foster moms, and a handful of other fosters help out from time to time.
What we promise
- Every dog is spayed or neutered before adoption.
- We review every application — it usually takes several business days.
- We stay in touch after adoption, and follow-up visits may be part of that.
